July 15: Sunfish Sailing to Sand Dunes

I sailed the sunfish all the way to the north end of Silver Lake Sand Dunes.  The wind was light from the south.  I tacked for about an hour.  The wind started to lighten up so I started to run back and was cruising along the shore at 5 mph for about a mile, then the wind died with 3 miles to go to get back to our beach.  It was blazing hot so the 3 mile walk pulling the boat was tiring, but the water was very cool which mad ethe walk back refreshing.  My legs and feet hurt from walking on the sand ridges in the lake.  Distance traveled was 10.35 miles.  Ave. speed was 4.3 mph. Time was 3 hrs. and 2 min.  No photos for this session.
